Islamophobia, war and the Middle East in chaos - the legacy of Bush and Blair
Tue 26 May 2015 7:30pm
Augustine United Church
41 George IV Bridge

With Moazzam Begg, Lindsey German (convenor STW), Aamer Anwar & Safeena Rashid (Muslim Women’s Association of Edinburgh)
The world is a much more dangerous place than it looked fourteen years ago, before the launch of the War on Terror. The Middle East is in flames as a result of a series of Western interventions that continue to this day. Across Europe and beyond there has been a wave of Islamophobia and governments respond to desperation of individuals seeking safety by ignoring the root causes. This meeting is a chance to hear some great speakers and participate in discussion about the way forward.
