War breeds racial hatred

The Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone and the Muslim Association of Britain held a one-day conference in London entitled "Understanding the impact of the war in Iraq on London's Muslim communities" on Tuesday, 14 October 2003. Specialists in various fields discussed the repercussions of the war on Iraq on the London's Muslim community.In its concluding statement, the conference said that

"London, one of the worlds most cosmopolitan, most multi-ethnic and multi-religious, capitals has seen a rise in racism, xenophobia and, above all, Islamophobia as a result of the war on Iraq."
