Assemble from 10am for 11am.
Sheku Bayoh died on 3 May 2015 very shortly after being restrained by up to 9 police officers on the streets of Kirkcaldy. His family have been fighting for justice for 3 years and 5 months. They and their lawyer, Aamer Anwar, will be meeting with the Lord Advocate on Wednesday 3 October to find out whether any of the officers involved will face prosecution. Leaks to the media from a source within the Crown Office and Prosecutor Fiscal Service suggest that no charges will be brought.
The family are asking people to assemble peacefully outside the office of the Crown Office & Procurator Fiscal Service in Edinburgh before the meeting to show support. The family will be meeting with the Lord Advocate at 11.30am and a full statement will be issued on behalf of the family afterwards, at about 12.30pm.
