SACC welcomes the statement issued by the Stand Up To Racism (SUTR) Scotland Steering Committee on 17 July that Glasgow Friends of Israel (GFI) and the Confederation of Friends of Israel Scotland (COFIS) are not welcome at SUTR Scotland events.

GGEC, to which SACC is affiliated, has issued a further statement on the UK Government's proposed ban on Palestine Action. SACC dissents from this statement.

SACC is appalled at the UK Government's announcement on Monday that it intends to add Palestine Action to its list of terrorist organisations banned under the Terrorism Act 2000. Palestine Action is a widely respected part of the UK's multi-faceted and organisationally diverse Palestine solidarity movement.

Gaza Genocide Emergency Committee and Edinburgh Gaza Genocide Emergency Committee deplore the UK Government’s imminent plan to proscribe Palestine Action as a ‘terrorist’ grouping. 

SACC condemns the war of aggression initiated by Israel against Iran on 13 June, calls for the international isolation of Israel and particularly calls for an immediate and complete halt to all direct and indirect UK military  cooperation with or support for Israel, and a halt to any UK action against or interference in Iran. 

On Thursday 1 May elections will be held for 23 councils and 6 mayors across England. There will be a parliamentary by-election for Runcorn and Helsby on the same day. Voters need to say loud and clear that they won't vote Labour unless Keir Starmer announces an arms embargo on Israel.

SACC urges the UK Government to remove Hamas and Hezbollah from the list of organisations proscribed under the UK’s Terrorism Act 2000. We call on organisations that support justice in Palestine to adopt a similar position.
