#M21Scot - Stand Up to Racism and Fascism
Assemble 10.30 am, March & Rally 11 am
A day of action has been called for across Europe on 21st March to coincide with UN Anti-racism Day.
In the build up to election day, join us in rejecting racism and showing that migrants are welcome. Let’s celebrate diversity by expressing our cultures and identities. Let’s demonstrate our confidence in a future free of scapegoating, racism and hatred. The M21 demo on Facebook
The far-right group Pegida will be holding a rally outside the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh on the same day. It is unlikely to be very large and should not deflect anti-racists from giving mass support to the demo in Glasgow. But in any case, it's easy to participate in the Glasgow demo and oppose Pegida in Edinburgh.
There will be a counter-rally in Edinburgh, organised by UAF, outside the Parliament at 2.30pm. The UAF coach from Edinburgh to Glasgow will return to Edinburgh in time for the anti-Pegida demo. To book a seat email
As well as this, Glasgow anti-racists will be meeting after the Glasgow demo at Glasgow Queen Street Station at 1.30pm to catch the 1.45pm train to Edinburgh to show solidarity with anti-fascist and anti-racist campaigners who are organising to oppose Pediga there.

There will also be updates on the Edinburgh Against the Racist SDL (Edinburgh UAF) Facebook page.
Pegida have already changed their plans three times now and may do so again. Be ready to react quickly. An announcement will be made at the Glasgow demo on the latest developments. Pegida Nazis are not going to be allowed to march in Edinburgh unopposed.
