Azzam Tamimi on Gaza

Sunday 25 January 2009

Speaking at a meeting in Edinburgh today, Palestinian intellectual Azzam Tamimi condemned the part played by Egypt and Jordan in Israel's attack on Gaza, but said that the worldwide protests against the attack had been an inspiration to the people defending Gaza

Azzam Tamimi is the founder of the Institute of Islamic Political Thought and is an authority on Hamas. His book Hamas, Unwritten Chapters gives a rare insider's view of how Hamas sees itself and the world around it.

He was speaking at the event Resistance to Genocide & Ethnic Cleansing - from Europe in the 40s to the Middle East Today organised by the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign to mark Holocaust Day
